FAQ’s

  • What is Pilates?

Pilates is a low impact movement method that supports posture, balance & coordination by strengthening muscles. Pilates is not only a wonderful exercise, it helps connect your mind to your body ensuring you can switch off and have an hour to yourself.

  • How does Body Control Pilates differ?

Body Control Pilates is one of the leading Pilates education providers. It breaks down the classical Pilates moves into safe and effective movements, so that it can suit and benefit any body! The foundation movements can be built upon and progressed.

  • Can specific 'problem areas' be targeted by Pilates?

Yes! Before you join a class you will be asked to complete an enrolment form which goes through your medical history and goals. This is kept strictly confidential but will ensure the Pilates teacher can tailor classes to suit specific needs. Pilates is a whole body approach but specific ‘problem areas’ can be targeted within the method.

    A mat & water bottle.

All other equipment will be provided.

Head cushions are available to purchase, should you wish.

As we will move a lot in Pilates, comfortable clothing is recommended, so that you can move easily. I advise joggers or leggings and a t-shirt or sports vest. No shoes needed!
